Week #2 (Monday 4/30 to Sunday 5/6)
Sunday, May 6
Twins 14, Rangers 6
Close game played by both teams until the Twins broke away with six runs in the last two innings to win 14 to 6. Dylan Goldman pitched three strong innings, gave up two runs, struck out four. Spectacular defense by Blake Thomas and 1st base Kirsten Kelly. Catchers Chris Williams, David Marchand made big stops behind the plate all day. Offensively, Rangers’ were lead by Kirsten Kelly (1hit,1RBI,1 run), Dylan Goldman (2hits, 2 runs), and Jack Ginand (2 hits, 3RBIs). The Twins’ Jack Urdang (1 IP, 2Ks,4RBIs) ripped a bases loaded double. Shane George, Spencer Bernard, Max Boone and Eamon O'Malley all had two RBI. Defense highlights: Zac Roth (2B, 2 RBI) with a diving catch in outfield. Stephen Kossuth (1 IP) at the plate, Jimmy Mackinnon. Sean Carney (2 IP, 4Ks) and Michael Mackinnon (1 IP, 2Ks) pitched for the Twins.

Reds 14, Pirates 7
The Pirates and Reds played a tight game until the top of the 6th when the Reds’ offense showed its teeth to seal the victory 14 to 7. The Pirates had solid defense from Vincent Fortunato, Nathan Soukup, and Finn Garrity. Charlie Murphy and Ethan Webber pitched great early for the Pirates to keep the game close. Pirates’ offense was led by Andrew Cahill (3-4) and Jake Leverone (2-4).The Reds’ offense was sparked by timely hitting from Liam McCarthy (3-4,3b),Colby Cataldo (3-4),Peter Cannon (3-4), Bennett Smart (3-4) and Jackson Bleakley (2-2,4R). Nico Andolina (2IP,5Ks) and Anil Lele (3IP, 4Ks) held the Pirates in check.
Saturday, May 5
Blue Jays 8, Braves 4
Down 2-0 after three innings, the Blue Jays scored two runs in the 4th, six runs in the 5th inning holding on to beat the Braves 8 to 4. Nick Carter had two hits, a bases loaded single in the 4th, driving in two runs. Jack Carter two hits bases loaded single in the 5th inning. Eddie Zhou, Mark DiStefano each scored twice. Pitchers Ryan Immerman, Jack Carter, Carter Hayden combined for an impressive thirteen strike out game. The Braves’ Adam Bradford led the offense with three hits, two runs scored. Emma Fraser, Kylie Oblak, Ryan Richards and Jack Folz each had one hit. Pitchers for the Braves were Jack Folz, Adam Bradford, Emma Fraser and Derek Neilsen.

Diamondbacks 6, Mariners 3
Diamondbacks played a strong game defeating the Mariners 6 to 3. Diamondback offense highlights: Jack MacLean's RBI double in the 1st, Luke Furman (2b), Ben Ohler (2 hits). Pitchers Lucas Allen (7k's) and Jimmy O'Connor (7k's) combined for six stellar innings. Nathan Baglin, David Rowe had the defensive play of the game with a relay throw to Furman at the plate for the final out in the 4th. The Mariners’ Matt Lucey had three shutout innings,6K’s,outstanding defensive plays. Mariners’ hitting was led by Trebor Bennett(single, a walk,2 RBIs), Brett Ciccolo(single,walk,a run scored), Jonah Sacher(single, walk,run scored) and Andrew Sifferlen with a long triple and RBI.
Orioles 11, Astros 2
The Orioles defeated the Astros 11 to 2 with strong pitching and solid fielding. Jack Hallal (2IP,3Ks, 0 ER), catcher Alex Kelly with key defensive plays, Ross Erman’s snagged a line drive at third and Jason Mead’s diving catch at SS helped slow down the Astros offense. Orioles offensive highlights:Jack Dorsey (3 for 4,2R,2RBIs), Alex Kelly (3 for 4, 2R). Henry Stowell reached base four times and drove in the go-ahead run. Andrew Brown hit a key single and drove in a run. The Astros were led offensively by Jack Gray (2B, RBI), Aidan Cavanaugh (1-3, RBI,1R), John Farren (1-2,1R),Sam Gray (1-2, 2B). James Ewing (2 IP, 4 K), Michael Cavanaugh (2 IP, 5K), Stu Lustig (2K) pitched well against a good hitting Orioles team.
Rays 12, Twins 4
The Rays defeated the Twins 12 to 4 with timely hitting and great pitching. The Twins’ Shane George had 3 strikeouts and two key defensive plays. Starting pitcher Zac Roth was strong, Spencer Bernard (2IPs, 2Ks) with strong innings in relief. Stephen Kossuth (2 for 3), Sean Carney (2 for 2, triple, run scored), Ben Winters (2 for 2, double, RBI, run scored) and Eamon O'Malley (1 for 2, run scored) set the paced for the Twins’ offense. Key defensiveplays by Max Boone,Jimmy Mackinnon, Jack Urdang, Michael Mackinnon. The Rays showed solid hitting with multiple hits by Owen Madigan, Brett Siegal, RyanLindblom, Alec Keilen and Ryan Mulcahey. Their pitchers Brett Siegal, RyanMulcahey and Alec Keilen all played well. Catchers Jason Tinkov and Ryan Meal both had solid behind-the-plate innings. Ethan Minkoff, Ranen Leung,Tyler Durkinall all played well.
Dodgers 9, Rockies 7
The Dodgers won against the Rockies 9 to 7. The Rockies' Keith Lucier drove in three runs with a key hit in the 3rd, grabbed a low line drive at short, doubled up a runner and had a double play in the last inning. Aidan Prendergast singled, scored once. Aaron Freundlich, Emmet Klein contributed a hit and a RBI apiece. The Rockies’ showed solid pitching from Matt Joachim (3IP,2ER,5H,1BB,3K), Simon Perry (1 2/3 IP,2ER,3H,5BB,3K), Klein (1/3 IP, 2ER, 3H, 1BB). For the Dodgers, Wilson Sneath made a diving catch in center in the 2nd, an out at 3rd with Jesse Sun, Jacob Pentz. Brett Sorbo threw a key strikeout. Brendan Walsh struck out the side in the fifth.
Brewers 4, Marlins 2
The Brewers defeated the Marlins 4 to 2. The Brewers received strong pitching from Will Dale (2.2 IP,1R), Alden Young (1.2 IP,1R) and Jonah Krasnow (0.2 IP, 0 R) who came on with bases load to get the last 2 outs in 3 pitches. Josh Jacobson made a leaping grab of a liner playing 1st and threw out a runner as catcher. The Brewers scored all 4 runs in the 1st with walks by Will Hardwick,Chris Streilein,Will Dale. Krasnow,Young,John Dale all with hits. The Marlins led by strong pitching from Derek Tang (2 IP,0R,3K's), Ippolit Matjucha (2IPs, 5Ks). Zachary Hochberg drove in Deven Verma with a big RBI double. Max Woolf picked up an RBI, driving in Brian Davenport.
Pirates 11, Tigers 10
The Tigers battled hard against the Pirates but were inched out in the bottom of the 6th as the Pirates staged an end of game rally to seal the victory 11-10. The Tigers delivered strong pitching from Nick Emerson, Jamie Sampson-Lizotte and Dan Guzi. Max Askew, Cole Ward, Teddy Durant produced the offense while Will Houser, Blake Pailler and Joe Mephan provided solid defense. The Pirates pitched a solid game with Andrew Cahill, Jason Lyons and Jack Garrity. Tough offensive plays by Grant Comrie, Ryan Cullen and Jason Lyons helped to seal the victory for the Pirates.

Friday, May 4
Astros 10, Rockies 5
The Astros were led by strong pitching from Sam Gray, Michael Cavanaugh and John Farren winning against the Rockies 10 to 5. The Astros team played well defensively. Offensively, they were paced by John Farren (3 BB, 2R), Sam Gray (1-1, 3BB, 3R), Aidan Cavanaugh (1-3, 1R), Eric Feng (3 BB), and Jack Gray (2-3, 1R). James Ewing and Stu Lustig each scored a run. The Rockies’ bats were quiet until the last inning, when Aidan Lee put his team on the board with an RBI single. Aaron Freunlich followed with his second hit of the day, and Simon Perry smashed a 3-RBI double to cut the Astros lead in half. Aidan Prendergast (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 K, 2 BB) and Ethan Sussman (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K, 1 BB) both delivered strong pitching performances for the Rockies.
White Sox 11, Marlins 10
The White Sox rallied to score three in last inning to come from behind and win in walk-off fashion against the Marlins 11 to 10. The Marlins took to an early 8-0 lead with solid pitching from Justin Lombardi (3IP,6Ks) and James Bernere (2IP, 3Ks). Brian Davenport scored three runs and Zach Hochberg, Magnus Magnusson, Nathan Rippy and Ippolit Matucha all scored one run for the Marlins. The White Sox had great relief pitching from Griffin Brown (2 2/3 IP,4Ks) and Robert MacNamara (1 IP, 2Ks). The Marlins’ bats finally awoke with Andrew Vona, Liam Shaughnessy and David Griffith with two hits apiece. Charlie Desmairis had a 3 RBI inside the a park homerun and Robert MacNamara had a clutch two run double to win it in the bottom of the 6th.
Thursday, May 3
Mariners 7, Rays 6
The Mariners stormed back from six runs down, by Trebor Bennett’s RBI single in the bottom of the 4th and held on for the win 7 to 6. Teddy Smith pitched three scoreless innings(7Ks), Davis Donley finished off the game with two scoreless innings, 4Ks. Mariners’ hitting was led by Ralph Babcock(single, a double,2RBIs),Tino Tamburrini, Jonah Sacher each had 2 hits.Ryan Saklad chipped in a single, an RBI and scored a key run. For the Rays: Tyler Durkin, Ethan Minkoff(pitching on his birthday!) and Alec Keilen all delivered solid pitching.Ryan Mulcahey hit a grand slam for his 3rd home run of the season. Ranen Leung, Owen Madigan scored in the 1st for the Rays. The Rays played strong defense with Jason Tinkov behind the plate, Brett Siegal at shortstop, Tyler Durkin as pitcher and a double by Ryan Mulcahey in CF.

Monday, April 30
Brewers 7, Athletics 2
The Brewers were anchored by strong pitching with 14 strikeouts defeating the Athletics 7 to 2. Brewers’ starter Will Dale pitched two scoreless innings. Alden Young pitched at high speed in the final 2innings, notching 6K's. John Dale, Jonah Krasnow each had a solid inning. At 3rd, Alden Young bare-handled a slow roller, gunned it to 1st baseman Ari Roth. Chris Steilein at 2nd base had two good plays. The Athletics’ turned two double plays: Will Brock snatched a line drive and stepped on first base to double off the runner. Shortstop Matt Allor fielded a hard grounder, tagged the runner heading to 3rd, and flipped to the 2nd baseman. The A's stellar pitchers Drew Nobile retired the side in order in the fourth and Parks Marillo struck out the side in the fifth. Lefty pitcher Nobile stroked a double and a triple.
Orioles 11, Rangers 5
The Orioles defeated the Rangers 11 to 5 with another solid team effort. Orioles’ solid pitching was led by Jack Dorsey (3 IPs, 8Ks,0ER), Jack Hallal(1 IP,2Ks). Their offense was strong at the plate with hits by Ethan Hullinger, Kathryn Kimble, Amanda Quirk, Alex Kelly, Jack Dorsey, Henry Stowell and Jack Hallal. The Rangers were led offensively by Jack Ginand(2 hits), Matt Becker(1 hit,1 run,2 RBIs), Dylan Goldman(1 hit,1 run,1 stolen base), and Ryan Gies (1 walk,1 run). The Rangers’ pitchers Matt Becker, Kirsten Kelly, and Owen Smith kept the Rangers close with 5Ks. Defensively, Owen Smith snagged a line drive.
Blue Jays 5, Tigers 0
The Blue Jays scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th to break open a close game beating the Tigers 5 to 0. Pitchers Mark DiStefano(2IP,2H,1K),Tim Duffy(2IP, 0H, 3K), Nick Carter(1 IP, 0H, 3K) and Luke Geel (1 IP, 0H) combined for the shut out. Jack Carter, Eddie Zhou, and Will Fama assisted with key plays in the infield. Jack Carter drove in two runs with a two out single in the 2nd inning. Luke Geel with a RBI double to left in the 5th inning. The Tiger’s strong pitching by Will Houser, Ryan Lutz and Teddy Durant. Great work in the field by Dan Guzi, Joe Mepham, Nick Emerson and Jamie Sampson-Lizotte provided an exciting game.
Twins 11, Reds 6
The Twins’ pitching held off a tough Reds team as they defeated the Reds 11 to 6. Michael Mackinnon had 1-2/3 innings of scoreless relief with two assists.Sean Carney(2IP, 6Ks) closed the game. Max Boone(2 for 3, 2RBI) made two great catches in outfield to stop the Reds’ attempts to rallies. Jimmy Mackinnon scored two key runs, Jack Urdang, Eamon O'Malley, Spencer Bernard and Shane George combined for four additional runs. Ben Winters hit a bases loaded triple. Stephen Kossuth(2 for 3) and Zac Roth(2 for 4) contributed 2 RBIs and 2SB. The Reds were paced by the hitting of Peter Cannon (3 for 3), Andrew Zhao (2 for 2, BB) and Max Scribner (2 for 3). Jackson Bleakley struck out 6 batters in 2 IP.
