Week #6 (Sunday 6/3 to Monday 5/28)
Sunday 6/3
Rays 8, Rangers 5
Rays fought back from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Rangers in the play-in game leading into the playoffs. Rays received strong pitching from Jack Hankey, Tyler Durkin and Ryan Mulcahey. This was backed by excellent defensive plays by Ranen Leung, Ryan Lindblom and Owen Madigan. Alec Keilen led the hitting attack with three hits (3-3,2RBIs,2Rs). Rangers’ Matt Becker pitched 3 scoreless innings (5Ks). Rangers showed strong defensive plays by Randy Ziffer at 3rd, Jack Ginand at 1st,Chris Williams at SS,Kirsten Kelly at 2nd, David Marchand catcher. Offense was led by Jack Ginand, Chris Williams, and David Marchand.

Rockies 20, Marlins 6
Ippolit Matjucha led the Marlins to a strong start by pitching 3 shutout innings (3Ks). James Bernene ripped up the base paths with 3SBs and two runs scored.Justin Lombardi,Magnus Magnusson, Zachary Hochberg, Max Woolf each scored one run for the Marlins. Rockies’ Simon Perry drove in 5 runs with a home run and a double. Quinn Meyerson and Keith Lucier both went 3 for 3 and scored 3 runs apiece. Ethan Sussman hit a big 2-RBI single in the fifth, followed two batters later by Aidan Lee with a 3-RBI double. Matt Joachim (3IP,0R,2H,1W,5K)and Keith Lucier (2IP,0R,1H,1W,3K)shut down the Marlins from the 2nd inning on. Joachim turned a nice double play in the 5th, catching a fly in center and making a perfect throw to Perry at 1st to double up a runner, giving the Rockies a big emotional boost that carried over to the remainder of the game.

Friday 6/1
Mariners 11¸ Dodgers 0
Teddy Smith(3IP,8K), Brendan Kelleher(2IP,3K), and Jack Rothbart(1IP,3K) combined for 6 innings of shutout ball as the Mariners beat the Dodgers. The Mariners offense was led by Davis Donley who had 3 hits including a long triple, Matt Lucey(2H,1R), Andrew Sifferlen(2H,1R), Ryan Saklad, Tino Tamburrini and Brett Ciccolo.
Blue Jays 14, Orioles 8
Blue Jays produced timely hits and consistent pitching to win against the Orioles.Tim Duffy led the offense with 3 hits (including a long double), 2 runs and 4 RBIs in addition to a strong pitching performance (2IP,1R,6K). Ten different Blue Jays were involved in the scoring. Pitcher Carter Hayden closed the game with 3 fielding assists in the last inning.

Thursday 5/31
Reds 9, Rockies 6
Reds defeated the Rockies leading offensively with Jackson Bleakley (2-3,3R,2RBI), Bennett Smart (1-1,2BBs,2R) and Max Scribner (1-2,3b,BB) who had a big 2 run triple. Jackson Bleakley pitched a scoreless final inning. Rockies' Simon Perry (2-2, 2 2B,2RBIs, 2runs), Quinn Meyerson (2-2,1 1B, 1 2B, 2RBIs,1 run), and Aidan Prendergast (2-2,2 1B) all had great days at the plate. Johan Schoener and Keith Lucier drove in the Rockies' other runs. Prendergast pitched a strong inning to end the game (1 IP,0runs,0H,2Ks) with help from Aidan Lee with a nice play at third.
Tigers vs. Twins (no score)
Tuesday5/29
Diamondbacks 10, Braves 8
Strong pitching, timely hitting, and a couple of key fielding plays, the Diamondbacks held off the Braves in a nail-biter game. The Diamondbacks were led by the strong pitching of Ben Ohler (2IP,4Ks,0 runs), David Rowe threw a solid inning, Lucas Allen (2IP) and Jimmy O'Connor came into the final inning to record the save. Defensively Luke Fuman recorded the final out with a nice play at shortstop to end the game. Every Dback player reached base with the offense led by Brendan Meehan 2-3 (2b), Luke Furman 1-3 (2b), Ben Ohler, Lucas Allen and Nathan Baglin also added to the offense with a base hit. Braves’ Ryan Richards led the offense with 2 hits and 2 RBI. Ryan also threw out a base runner trying to steal 3rd base. Johnny Oblak had 2 hits, an RBI and a nice catch in center field on a deep fly ball. Adam Howard started a double play 1st base to home. Nicholas Bettenhauser pitched 1 1/3 innings, striking out 2 and Jack Folz pitched 2 and 2/3 innings
Monday 5/28
Dodgers 1, Reds 1
Dodgers and Reds played a quick and well-played game. Brendan Walsh had 9k's over 3 innings, Wilson Sneath had 5 over 2 innings and Alex Kilroy had a big tow out hit. Reds were able to come back to tie the game at 1-1, as Max Scribner started the 6th inning with a BB and later scored on a big two out hit by Anil Lele. Reds’ pitchers kept the game close, Nico Andolina (2-2/3 IP,8Ks),Jackson Bleakley (2-1/3 IP,6Ks) and Colby Cataldo pitched a scoreless 6th to preserve the tie.
Rays 14, Pirates 13
Rays and Pirates had a back and forth battle with the Rays pulling it out in the bottom of the sixth for the win. The Pirates had strong hitting throughout with nine hits. The Rays’ Alec Keilen had a three-RBI triple (3-4,4RBIs,2Rs), Ryan Meal scored three (3BB, RBIs,3Rs), Jack Hankey (2-4,2RBIs) and Jason Tinkov had the winning RBI. The Rays also received excellent pitching from Tyler Durkin and Ryan Lindblom. Brett Siegal and Ryan Mulcahey had excellent defensive plays in the field.
Astros 9¸ Brewers 7
Astros received strong pitching from Stuart Lustig, Sam Gray,Aidan Cavanaugh. Astros offensive leaders were Sam Gray (2-3 with 2 runs scored),Aidan Cavanaugh (2-3,3RBI),Jack Gray (2-2,2runs scored) and John Farren who continued his hot hitting (1-2 with 1 run scored).The Brewers showed strong pitching from Josh Jacobson and Will Dale. Jacobson had 2 hits, including a rope to left. John Dale made a great diving catch at shortstop. Although they fell just short, the Brewers mounted a furious last inning rally as Will Hardwick, Alden Young, and Jonah Krasnow all reached based and John Dale hit a bases loaded double.
