Sudbury Native Linda Chorney Loses Out on Grammy Bid
Former Miss Sudbury was up for Best Americana Album.
Former Sudbury resident Linda Chorney, an independent singer/songwriter who was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Americana Album during Sunday night's 54th annual show, lost to Levon Helm.
Helm's Ramble At The Ryman beat out Chorney's Emotional Jukebox to take home the Grammy.
Chorney, who was born and raised in Massachusetts, was nominated on her fourth album.

Chorney, a former Miss Sudbury and prom queen of the class of ‘78, has performed throughout the Boston area with her band, which was made up primarily of Berklee students, at many venues including Channel, Molly’s, T.T. Bears, and Copperfield’s. In 1991, she also performed at the Hatch Shell for Nelson Mandela.
Chorney made history by being the first self-produced, self-label, independent-as-they-come artist to get a nomination in this prestigious category.
