Sudbury Resident Returns from Deployment in Afghanistan
Sgt. Charles Wilkinson was deployed for a year with the Massachusetts National Guard.

Sargent Charles Wilkinson returned home to Sudbury after serving a one-year deployment in Farah Province, Afghanistan. Sgt. Wilkinson was part of Charlie Company, 1st Division of the 182nd Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts National Guard. He has served two prior tours of duty, Iraq/Kosovo in 2006 to 2007 and Iraq in 2009 to 2010.
Sgt. Wilkinson has received numerous awards for his service including three Army Commendation Medals, one Army Achievement Medal, one Navy/Marine corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge as well as the Air Assault Badge. He is currently stationed at Camp Edwards on Cape Cod where he is assigned to the Training Support Center, and will help other troops throughout the Northeast prepare for deployment.
Sgt. Wilkinson is a 2004 graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, and he attended Wentworth Institute of Technology prior to his first deployment. Sgt. Wilkinson is the son of David and Marianne Wilkinson of Sudbury.
