Sudbury Residents Star in The Yeoman of the Guard

The not-for-profit Savoyard Light Opera Company is proud to present Gilbert & Sullivan’s masterpiece The Yeomen of the Guard, from Nov. 10-20, at the Corey Auditorium in Carlisle.

Appearing in the show in lead roles are Sudbury residents Mike Lague, as The Lieutenant, and Graham Daley, as Kate.

See an innocent hero with his head on the chopping block. The Yeomen of the Guard brings the Tower of London to Carlisle. The worthiest warrior of all is about to be wrongly beheaded. See jesters and jailers, love triangles, mistaken identities, young lovers running to each other and older lovers running away.  Rich costumes and the massive Tower of London provide a backdrop for Gilbert and Sullivan’s most operatic, and for many, most moving work. Come hear glorious music and witty comedy that depict the struggles between honor and duty, between love and responsibility and between justice and the law. 

As always, this Savoyard Light Opera Company production will feature a full orchestra, original scenery, lush costumes and professional lighting.  Philip Lauriat, well known professional Operatic and Theatrical director, will serve as both Stage and Music Director for the production. The talented near-professional cast hails from numerous towns and cities throughout the Greater Boston area

Performances of The Yeomen of the Guard will be Saturday, Nov. 12; Sunday, Nov. 13; Friday, Nov. 18; Saturday, Nov. 19; and Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Corey Auditorium on Church Street, Carlisle.  

Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Ticket prices for all above performances are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors and students and $16 for children (12 and under). Group rates are available for parties of 10 and more. Bargain tickets are available for dress rehearsal on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at only $10 each.
