Sudbury Seeks GIS, Database Coordinator For IT Department

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury is accepting applications for a part-time technology position focused on the town’s geographic information system.
The town is hiring a GIS and Database Coordinator/Systems Administrator in the Information Systems Department, with applications due July 23. The position is responsible for overseeing and maintaining Sudbury’s geographic information system and helping the technology manager provide system support for municipal projects, programs and related work, according to the town.
The job involves frequent contact with town departments, elected officials, residents and others on matters that may be complex, sensitive or confidential, according to the posting. The town said applicants should have strong communication and customer service skills.

Typical qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, geography, cartography, planning or a related field, plus three to five years of technical experience in GIS management and database implementation, according to the town. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may also qualify.
The anticipated pay range is $43 to $46 per hour. The job is scheduled for 14 hours per week, with starting pay based on qualifications.

The final candidate will be subject to a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and physical exam before being hired.
