Sudbury MA Primary 2026: Contested Races, Voting Details

SUDBURY, MA — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to decide five contested races in the Massachusetts primary.

Sudbury’s Democratic ballot includes contests for U.S. Senate, the 5th Congressional District, Governor’s Council and Northern District attorney, while the Republican ballot includes a contested governor’s race.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Fairbank Community Center, 40 Fairbank Road, according to the Sudbury Town Clerk.

Incumbent Sen. Edward J. Markey faces U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton in the Democratic Senate primary. In the 5th Congressional District, which includes Sudbury, incumbent U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark faces Jonathan Paz and Tarik Samman.

Mara Dolan and Margie Palladino are competing for the Democratic nomination for the 3rd District Governor’s Council seat. Northern District Attorney Marian Ryan also faces David Solet.

Republican voters will choose between Michael Roger Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve for governor.

Registered party members must vote in their party’s primary. Unenrolled voters may choose either ballot.
