Summer at the Library: Teen Study Week, Reading Club for Kids

The Goodnow Library is gearing up for a great summer.

The Goodnow Library continues to offer free reading, a quiet space to work and air conditioning throughout the summer.

But they’ve also got some special summer programs and events lined up, too. This year, the library hosts a Teen Study Week and a Summer Reading Club for kids.

Back by popular demand, Teen Study Week returns June 16-19, with the library offering extended hours (open through 11 p.m.) for any high school students who are studying for exams. During this week, the library’s also providing pizza, coffee, study breaks and extra study space.

Starting on June 24, the Goodnow Library is launching fun programs and activities designed to get kids excited about reading. Stop by starting Tuesday, June 24, to the children’s room to sign up for the program and you’ll get summer reading materials, which includes a log, reading challenge, bookmark, sticker and tattoo.

This year, help construct a science laboratory mural by reading. For every five books a child reads, they get to add a piece of art to the mural. For every ten, kids get to vote on which exhibit the library will support.
