Support Jean Nam For Goodnow Library Board: Letter

I am thrilled to support Jean Nam in her election campaign for Goodnow Library Trustee. She has shown her dedication to our town in her work for the schools, the Finance Committee, and as a volunteer at the Goodnow. Jean has a demonstrated commitment to what is best for Sudbury and our community.

I first met Jean in 2017 when I was the Facilities Director in Sudbury, and we were starting a project to renovate the school playgrounds. We were just starting the project and she approached me with some basic questions about our goals. The next thing I knew, she had drafted a proposal for all four elementary school playgrounds, including ADA compliance considerations and budget estimations. I hadn’t asked for this help, and I didn’t know this person. I wasn’t sure what to think? But, I took a leap of faith and invited her to a kickoff meeting that we were having for the project.

It’s been about four years since that initial meeting and since then Jean co-founded a non-profit, PlaySudbury, to partner with the town and schools to raise money and awareness for our school playground renovation project. She has been the de facto project manager for the project, liaising with equipment suppliers, moderating committee meetings, and applying for and receiving grant money from outside foundations. She is committed to listening to all stakeholders and working towards compromise and resolution.

In the years since we met, I have seen Jean become increasingly involved in our town through community organizing, volunteering, and co-chairing the Finance Committee. I am certain that if elected to the Goodnow Library Board of Trustees, she will work tirelessly to maintain and further polish this town gem.
