Town of Sudbury Welcomes 1st LT Dylan DeFlorio

1st LT. Dylan DeFlorio will be returning to the United States during October 2020 from deployment in Afghanistan.

He graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 2013 and later the University of Alabama where he graduated as a member of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

1st LT Dylan DeFlorio is now a Commissioned Officer in the 10th Mountain Division, 1st Brigade, stationed at Fort Drum in New York. In March 2020, he was deployed to Afghanistan where he ultimately became the Second in Command and Chief of Staff of a 100 Soldier specialized reconnaissance unit engaged in combat operations (utilizing air, ground, and maritime assets) across Afghanistan.

1st LT DeFlorio also provided advisory support to partner and host nation forces operating to protect Kabul City. He advised senior Afghan officials on ongoing and future projects and he was project manager of a multi-million-dollar project to improve the infrastructure and security of Kabul City.

1st LT Dylan DeFlorio is the son of Hillary Wells and step-son of Henry Phelan of Sudbury.
