Vote Matthews for Select Board; The Fresh Perspective Sudbury Deserves

Dear Sudbury Friends and Neighbors,

I am writing to you today to share my unequivocal endorsement of Kevin Matthews for Sudbury Select Board. I have had the privilege of knowing Kevin for several years in addition to working with him as colleagues on the LS School Committee. While I served on the School Committee for three years, Kevin has represented the LS community since 2010. During his time on the School Committee, he has served as Chair of the Committee as well as Chair of various subcommittees where he has skillfully negotiated multiple teacher contracts, successfully overseen the process of hiring a new Superintendent, and brought a fiscally responsible voice to the LS budget process every year of his tenure on the Committee. These are just a few examples that illustrate the institutional knowledge Kevin will bring to the Sudbury Select Board.

What differentiates Kevin from any other candidate is his unwavering commitment to his constituency. He is a true public servant, never driven by any personal agenda and never willing to sacrifice his ethics. On multiple occasions during our time together on the School Committee, I have known Kevin to meet in person with parents or community members who reached out to the Committee with concerns. This personal commitment to connecting with the community he represents has earned Kevin the trust of many and resulted in his consistent reelection. I'm very excited that he has now chosen to bring this level of commitment and connection to the greater Sudbury Community.

Sudbury taxpayers deserve leadership that is accountable to this community. A vote for Kevin Matthews is a vote for a leader who will be your voice on the Select Board. Kevin is smart, experienced, ethical and has spent the past several years demonstrating his unyielding commitment to getting results. Whatever the issue before him, Kevin will be a leader who listens thoughtfully, collaborates respectfully, and delivers consistently.

I ask you to join me in voting for Kevin Matthews for Sudbury Select Board on Election Day, Monday March 31st. He is the leadership that Sudbury deserves.

and successful negotiation of the newest LS teacher’s contract. Kevin was the Chair of
the Negotiations Subcommittee. The discussion where this was announced to the
community included words like ‘trust’ and ‘collaboration.’ Two incredibly important
