Weekend Happenings: Golf, Tomatoes and Luke Skywalker

When/Where: Saturday at 11 a.m. at Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road, Sudbury.

Why Go: It's not every day that Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo and Chewbacca can amicably hang out in the same room. Children ages 6 and older are invited to dress up as their favorite Star Wars character and join Star Wars enthusiast Peter Struzziero for trivia, a costume contest and to learn the history of Star Wars.

When/Where: Weekends in August, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Quail Ridge Country Club, 352 Great Rd, Acton.

Why Go: Turn golf into a family activity with Family Golf each weekend evening in August. For every paying adult, a child under 18 golfs for free. Just call to book your tee time.

Price: Cost of adults

When/Where: Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (workshop times are grouped by age) at Parmenter Community Health Care, 266 Cochituate Road, Wayland.

Why Go: This isn't entertainment, but it does serve an important function. Heart Play workshops are designed to help children and teens cope with the illness or death of a friend or loved one through artistic expression. Children as young as kindergarten age are invited to participate.

When/Where:  Saturday at noon at Unleased by Petco, 165 Linden St, Wellesley.

Why Go: Even your furry friend needs to meet new friends from time to time. Owners of small breed dogs are invited to bring their pets to the store for a chance to interact with other dogs and enjoy free treats. Cookie and coffee will be available for the pet parents.

Tomato Festival

When/Where: Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Carlisle Farmers' Market; 343 Bedford Rd, Carlisle.

Why Go: This first ever event promises baked goods, produce, crafts, info sessions and more as summer's favorite vegetable (or fruit?) is celebrated.
