Weekend Happenings: Wellness and Celebrations of Irish and Asian Cultures

Singing, well-being and lots more going on in Wayland, Sudbury, Acton and Weston.

When/Where: Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Wayland High School, 264 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland.

Why Go: There is something for everyone at this first summit in town of its kind. Experts will be on hand for seminars and presentations on everything from drug and alcohol prevention to planning for college to sexuality. When/Where: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Wayland High School, 264 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland.

Why Go: This annual event draws huge crowds who come to hear local college groups such as the Brandeis VoiceMale, MIT Logarhythms and Boston College Bostonians as well as Wayland High's own a cappella groups. The added bonus this year is that it's the first time the event will take place in the brand new Wayland High School.

When/Where: Saturday at various times beginning at 11 a.m. at Longfellow's Wayside Inn, 72 Wayside Inn Rd, Sudbury.

Why Go: It's St. Patrick's Day and you need traditional corned beef and cabbage all while being entertained by "Mulligan's Fancy." Oh, and if corned beef isn't your thing, regular menu items will be available as well.

Price: Varies depending on menu selections.

St. Patrick's Day Party Music Fundraiser

When/Where: Saturday at 7 p.m. at Exchange Hall, 2 School St, Acton.

Why Go: Rousing music featuring an Irish fiddle, beer and wine -- what more is there? Proceeds from the concert will support the general fund for Iron Work Farm in Acton, Inc, a 501(c)3 which owns and the Faulkner Homestead.

Price: $40 per person or $75 per couple.

Asia Night and Badminton Tournament

When/Where: Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Weston High School, 444 Wellesley St, Weston.

Why Go: The Asian Student Union at Weston High is inviting the public to celebrate Asian culture with a dinner buffet, entertainment and crafts. And, if you want to show off your badminton skills, there's a tournament from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Price: $12 for adults, $8 for children under 12; the badminton tournament is $5 for players and $2 for spectators.
