Whopper Goes Tex-Mex: Burger King Launching Burrito

Burger King is expanding its menu by adding a Tex-Mex version of the famous Whopper. Will you try it?

Did you always wish the Whopper combo came wrapped in a burrito along with Mexican spices? Now, you can have it your way, if so.

Burger King is introducing the new Whopperito, a Tex-Mex twist on the famous Whopper. The burger-burrito mashup is in response to customer requests, and a successful debut in select areas.

Starting on Monday, Aug. 15, the Whopperito goes national at participating restaurants.

This new sandwich of sorts features the same flame-broiled, 100-percent beef as found in the Whopper, and was conceived by a franchisee. The restaurant decided to roll it out nationwide while supplies last after it was met with social media requests. The hybrid includes many of the same ingredients as the Whopper, except the mayo is creamy queso sauce, it's got some Tex-Mex spices, and it's wrapped in a burrito.

"This unique merger is the latest in the brand’s fan-favorite food combinations, coming off the heels of the recent Mac n’ Cheetos launch," said the press release.

only Burger King restaurants could imagine..."

The new Whopperito will go for $2.99, and $4.99 as part of a combo meal.
