Lincoln-Sudbury's Superbowl Dream Falls Short to Everett

After cutting the deficit to within 8 points after 3 quarters, the Crimson Tide overpowers the Warriors in the 4th for their second straight title.

After three quarters during the Division 1A Superbowl Saturday night at Bentley University, the Everett Crimson Tide found themselves in a tighter game than most had anticipated against the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors.

L-S quarterback Matt Cahill found tight end Jack Harris in the back of the endzone for a 14-yard TD pass to cap a 64-yard drive and cut Everett’s lead to eight points as time expired in the third quarter.

But that was as close as the Warriors would get as the Tide scored on the third snap of the fourth quarter. Jackarrie Washington broke 63 yards down the right sideline, deking defender Henry Guild at the 10-yard line before running it in for the touchdown in a 36-13 victory and their second straight Superbowl title.

The Warriors’ last gasp came with 3:30 left in the game, but Washington picked off Cahill (12 of 24, 156 yards) on the third play of the drive to lock up Everett's ninth Super Bowl title under coach John DiBiaso.

Star QB Jonathan DiBiaso (18 carries, 71 yards) scored two rushing touchdowns to lead Everett (13-0). Washington, Vondell Langston (13 carries, 127 yards) and Jalen Felix also had TD runs for Everett.

Lincoln-Sudbury’s other score came on a wild play as Connor Young grabbed a ball that was kicked up by an Everett receiver and scrambled 61 yards on the interception.
