YMCA of Greater Boston Welcomes Back Anthony Attride

Sudbury Resident is Named New Executive Director of the Dorchester YMCA

DORCHESTER/SUDBURY, Mass. – The YMCA of Greater Boston is pleased to welcome Anthony Attride as the new Executive Director for the Dorchester YMCA in Dorchester, Mass.


The Sudbury, Mass. resident brings more than eight years of experience working within the YMCA family. He started his Y career with the YMCA of Greater Boston in 2011 working as the Membership Sales and Services Director. He held the position for four years and was responsible for the planning and execution of marketing campaigns at the central branch for the association. He later advanced to Operations Director for the Dorchester YMCA for which he oversaw daily activities, fundraising, volunteer and community relations initiatives as well as supervised all program directors for Membership, Aquatics, Healthy Living, Youth Development, Facilities and Sports.

In his most recent role, Associate Executive Director for the YMCA of the East Bay in Richmond, Calif., he provided leadership coaching and development support to program directors, helping to drive membership campaigns, health initiatives, volunteer support, board development and performance standards. He helped to surpass $200,000 in charitable gifts for the YMCA of East Bay’s annual campaigns for both the 2016 to 2017 and 2017 to 2018 fiscal years.

“I am so excited to return to Dorchester YMCA, to serve a community that I hold near and dear to my heart,” says Attride who holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Emerson College. “There has been some amazing and impactful things happening here, and I hope to enhance the Y’s current partnerships and community impact for the people of Dorchester.”
