$70K MA Grant To Help Restore Swampscott's Phillips Park Basketball Court
The Healey-Driscoll announced the award as part of $13 million in grants on Wednesday.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A $70,000 state grant will go toward the renovation of the Phillips Park basketball courts in Swampscott.
The goal is to rehabilitate the existing basketball court by resurfacing the court, installing new bike racks, benches, and trash receptacles, and improving lighting and fencing.
The funding is part of $13 million in grants for open space, watersheds, playgrounds and parks across the state that the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced on Wednesday.

"These investments mean more parks, cleaner water and safer neighborhoods for people across Massachusetts," Gov. Maura Healey said. "We're making it easier for families to get outside, for kids to play and for everyone to enjoy what makes our state unique.
"This is about improving daily life for our residents and making our communities stronger."

Healey said these grants are part of a broader effort to support local climate resilience and land conservation through the $3 billion Mass Ready Act.
