Alleged Drug Ring on Burrill Street Broken Up
Swampscott Police seized nearly two pounds of marijuana from a Burrill Street apartment on Tuesday.
Swampscott, MA - A month long investigation by Swampscott detectives and DEA agents led to the seizure of nearly two pounds of marijuana from a Burrill Street apartment on Tuesday.
Charges are expected to be filed against at least one of the residents of 215 Burrill Street, Apt. 5 in Lynn District Court, according to Swampscott police.
Swampscott Police Detectives and DEA Agents from the Boston office have been conducting a month-long investigation after receiving information from Swampscott Patrol Officer Candace Doyle of potential drug activity in the area of 215 Burrill Street.

Since receiving this information, Swampscott detectives conducted surveillance of this area and observed what they believed to be drug transactions taking place inside and around 215 Burrill St., according to police.
On Tuesday, detectives and several drug agents saw what they believed was an illegal drug transaction. After further investigation, police said detectives learned that marijuana was being sold from Apartment # 5 of 215 Burrill Street.

Detectives seized approximately two pounds of marijuana, three drug scales, drug packaging, and approximately $1000 in cash from that location.
Charges will be filed in Lynn District Court for one of the residents for possession of a Class D substance Marijuana and Possession of a Class D Substance with the intent to distribute.
