SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents are being urged not to leave their cars unlocked after a rash of break-ins in recent days.
Police said all the vehicles that were entered were unlocked.
"Thieves typically won't waste time entering a locked vehicle unless there are valuables visible," police said. "Simply locking your vehicle and hiding anything of value can protect you from becoming a victim."
Police asked residents to report anything suspicious in their neighborhoods.
"The smallest tip can be helpful in preventing future thefts," police said.
