SWAMPSCOTT, MA Swampscott's annual PorchFest is scheduled for Aug. 29, with music and community activities planned across town from noon to 6 p.m.
The town-wide event will feature 32 acts performing on 17 porches, according to the event information.
The day will begin at noon at the Linscott Park Gazebo with Swampscott's Blue Little Band.
PorchFest will include singer-songwriters, bands, poets and musicians from multiple genres at stops around town.
A family-focused porch is also planned at Town Hall.
Philip Alexander will lead a community drum circle there, and organizers said everyone can join whether they have a drum or not. The same porch will also include a ukulele performer for children.
Another stop at 144 Elmwood Road will pair music with a lemonade stand fundraiser. Money raised there will go to The Jimmy Fund and the Pediatric Neurology Oncology Team.
