Swampscott Plans Sept. 11 Ceremony On 25th Anniversary Of Attacks (patch.com) — Swampscott is inviting residents to a Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony at the Fire Station, marking 25 years since the 2001 attacks. The program will include an interfaith reflection, reading of local names, a memorial bell ceremony, and remarks honoring victims and first responders. Attendees are asked to arrive on Burrill Street before the 9:55 a.m. start time.
2. Swampscott Early, In-Person Voting For MA Primary Runs Through Friday (patch.com) — Swampscott voters can cast early, in-person ballots for the 2026 state primary at Town Hall through Friday, with extended hours on Wednesday. All Election Day voting will move to Swampscott High School on Sept. 1, where polls run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can contact the Town Clerk's Office with any questions.
3. Swampscott 'Service Disruption' Forces Meetings In-Person, Impacts Town Operations (swampscotttides.org) — Swampscott residents should know that a continuing town network disruption has forced several board and committee meetings into in-person-only formats and briefly canceled some sessions. Town staff, outside IT contractors, and regional partners are working to restore systems, while past email security issues highlight why officials are considering a broader North Shore IT collaboration.
4. Swampscott's Lucy Kline Receives Topsfield Fair Scholarship (swampscotttides.org) — Swampscott resident Lucy Kline has been awarded a Topsfield Fair scholarship recognizing her agricultural studies and community involvement. Her Girl Scout Silver Award project at Muskrat Pond, improving pollution and wildlife habitat in Swampscott, helped showcase her commitment alongside dozens of other North Shore student recipients.
