• Swampscott Officer on Paid Leave as Department Investigates Flock System Use (swampscotttides.org) — A Swampscott police officer is on paid administrative leave while the department investigates possible misuse of a partner community's Flock license-plate reader system, and has paused access to such tools. Town officials stress Swampscott itself has no Flock cameras, but are now reviewing policies, permissions, audits, and training before restoring any use of this technology.
• Enrollment at Swampscott Public Schools schools was 0.5% lower in 2025-26 (northbostonnews.com) — Swampscott Public Schools enrolled 2,083 students in 2025–26, a slight 0.5% dip from the previous year, with a nearly even split between male and female students. The district, based in Swampscott and serving Essex County, now ranks 136th statewide in enrollment, offering residents a snapshot of local school size and recent shifts.
