SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Veterans, surviving spouses and family members who want to learn more about available benefits will have a chance to do that in Swampscott this week.
The Department of Massachusetts Disabled American Veterans, in conjunction with the E. F. Gilmore DAV of the North Shore, is sponsoring a Veterans Information Seminar on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Clark School, 100 Middlesex Avenue, Swampscott.
The seminars are held to educate veterans, surviving spouses and their families on specific veterans' benefits and services.
Seminars are free and are run by DAV National Service Officers, identified in the announcement as highly trained staff members who work on veterans' benefits issues.
Veterans do not need to be Disabled Veterans of America members to qualify for these services.
Refreshments will be served, according to the announcement.
People who want more information before the event can contact Jeffrey Blonder at 617-967-6892.
