Applications being accepted for Swampscott Integrated Preschool

APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR SWAMPSCOTT'S INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL

The Swampscott Public School System’s Integrated Preschool Program is accepting applications for enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year. Applications can be requested by emailing the Integrated Preschool at raymond@swampscott.k12.ma.us or by printing an application from the school district website www.swampscottps.org under Integrated Preschool. Children must be current Swampscott residents who will be between the ages of 3 and 4-1/2 before September 1, 2018. Selection and placement of students will occur by lottery. All applications must be received by January 31st, 2018. There is a tuition charge for integrated children. Financial Aid is available based upon need.

Prior to enrollment, children will be screened to insure the presence of developmentally appropriate skills. Birth certificates, proof of residency, updated immunization and health records must be presented as well prior to enrollment.

Integration at the preschool level means that young children with special needs are educated alongside children without special needs. The integrated children provide modeling of skills in the areas of speech, language, social skills, and behavior in addition to other developmental skill areas. Children with and without special needs benefit and learn from this interaction and programming.
