Arrest Made In Swampscott Rash Of Recent Car Break-Ins: Police

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — While Swampscott police made an arrest this week on Paradise Road in connection to a rash of recent car break-ins, they say cars unlocked remain vulnerable to thieves in the town.

Police said all the recent car break-ins reported had one thing in common — the vehicles were all unlocked.

"Thieves typically won't waste time entering a locked vehicle unless there are valuables visible," police said. "Simply locking your vehicle and hiding anything of value can protect you from becoming a victim."

Police ask that residents call the station at 781-595-1111 if they see or hear anything suspicious.

"The smallest tip can be helpful in preventing future thefts," police said.
