Back To School: Swampscott 2021-22 School Calendar

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Swampscott, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Swampscott Public Schools.

The first day of school for most students in Swampscott is Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's most recent guidance, in-person classroom learning, five days a week is planned for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year in all school districts — including Swampscott.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Swampscott Public Schools

First Day: Aug. 31 (pre-K, 1-12); Sept. 9 (Kindergarten)

Labor Day Break: Sept. 3 - Sept. 8

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24 (early dismissal) - Nov. 28

Winter Break: Dec 23 (early dismissal) - Jan. 2

February Vacation: Feb. 21-25

April Vacation: April 18-22

Holidays With No School: Yom Kippur (Sept. 16), Columbus Day (Oct. 11), Veterans Day (Nov. 11), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 17), Memorial Day (May 30), Juneteenth Independence (observed June 20)
