Can Americans break their "100 billion plastic bags a year" habit? 

BAG IT is a short documentary, filmed in Boston, about the pervasive problems with widespread use of plastic shopping bags.

To learn more about the problematic persistance of plastic in the environment, the public is invited to a talk by Capt. Charles Moore who discovered the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a gyre of plastic debris in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The talk will take place on Wed. April 11, at Salem State University, Meier Hall, Lafayette Street, Rm. 444 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the week-long SSU Earth Day activities.
