Choose to Connect at Crane Estate

Join JFNS Women's Division for Cocktails and Conversation with Loren Galler Rabinowitz at the Crane Estate in Ipswich.

Cocktails and conversation with Loren Galler Rabinowitz will be featured at Choose to Connect, a community-wide event sponsored by Women’s Division of the Jewish Federation of the North Shore (JFNS), on Monday, July 16, at The Great House on The Crane Estate, 290 Argilla Road, Ipswich.

“The Great House offers a spectacular ocean-front setting to gather with women from all over the North Shore who are committed to our Jewish community,” says the event’s co-chair Rachel Schauer, “and we are privileged to be able to hear Loren Galler Rabinowitz share her inspirational and personal story of how she chooses to give back.”

Loren was crowned Miss Massachusetts in June 2010, just three weeks after graduating from Harvard University. Originally motivated by the pageant’s scholarship opportunities, Loren, a United States Figure Skating Bronze Medalist and classical pianist, found that the title gave her a platform to serve as a role model. As a grandchild of Holocaust survivors and the only Jewish contestant at the 2011 Miss America pageant, Loren was able to tell the incredible story of her grandparents’ survival and be an advocate for Holocaust education, helping to ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust are not forgotten. A published poet and public speaker, Loren is currently studying medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City.

“It is very rare for someone of Loren’s age to have so much passion for the causes she supports,” adds Melissa Stern, who is also co-chairing the event, “She is a true inspiration for everyone.”

The evening, which includes kosher-style food catered by Celebrations, is open to all women making a minimum gift of $72 to the JFNS campaign. The couvert is $60.
