The Girls Varsity Tennis team continued their winning streak today with a 5-0 win against Winthrop. We had a few scattered practices over vacation so I stressed footwork today and focusing on serves and returns. All the girls played well. The singles players did not drop a game... Anna Raptunovich (1st singles) 6-0, 6-0; Vivien Gere (2nd singles) 6-0,6-0; Veronica Pyatigorskaya (3rd singles) 6-0,6-0. Allegra Walker and Jessica Zolott secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at 1st doubles and Michelle Schnayder and Natalyia Andrushchenkes won 6-0,6-0. I was particularly pleased when the Winthop coach commented on the communication happening on the court with our 1st and 2nd doubles teams. This is something we have been working on all season and is such an important part of playing a good doubles match!
We play Lynn English home on Wednesday and are away at Lynn Classical on Thursday which was rescheduled due to junior prom on Friday.
