Founded by virtuoso Gypsy violinist/guitarist Oleg Ponomarev, Russian violinist Lev Atlas and Scottish guitarist extraordinaire Nigel Clark, the trio have been enchanting audiences around the world with their innovative heady cocktail of gypsy tunes from all over the world, spiced with soulful and heart-wrenching Klezmer music with added elements of jazz, rock, flamenco.
Koshka’s unique collaboration has been developing since 2001, when the trio first came together in Glasgow. It includes a hefty catalogue of original material, inspired by traditional melodies and arranged in unexpected new ways. Ranging from the most foot-tappingly catchy jazz to the most achingly beautiful violin airs this side of the Carpathians, their set gives audiences a chance to see music being played as it has never been played before.
