Loved ones of children with challenges will gain strength from "Hope runs through it"

Hear local author M.W. MacKay read from 'Hope runs through it,' a poetry collection gaining pre-release praise from the medical community as well as the literary crowd.

Hear local author M.W. MacKay read from her collection of poems about the travails and unexpected joys of raising a child with special needs at the Church of St. Andrew in Marblehead on Sunday from 11:30-1:30.

Hope runs through it is getting tremendous pre-launch response. MacKay's poems chronicle her journey of faith and frustration, paying homage to nature and the small blessings that are enough to pull one through.

"It took my breath away" and "it brought me to tears" are common reactions among early readers. One health care provider said she thought of all the families with whom it would resonate, gaining strength and hope.
