Off the Shelf

Library posting

The Swampscott Public Library, as well as all of the NOBLE
libraries, is in its second week of our new system and all in all things are
running pretty smoothly.  During the first week, every action seemed to be a two -man task but recently it seems everyone is more confident and able to handle each and every transaction.  Once we are all better acquainted with the
new processes, everyone, staff and public as well, will love the possibilities
of this new system. Change is never easy but we are trying to adapt and
hopefully we are doing okay.  Even with the new system, checking out books is continuing and we see many of the same titles going off the shelf.  Calico Joe by John Grisham is a popular title which is based on the Cubs and Mets during the 1973 season. Another popular baseball book is Summer of ‘68:
the season that changed baseball and America forever
by Tim Wendel.
One Summer
by David Baldacci is again drawing some attention as well
as Summer Rental  by Mary Kay Andrews.  Everyone is in a summer mood and in a summer mode so books about summer are always very popular at this time of year. That is what is “off the shelf” at the Swampscott Public Library for this week.
