Recycle Your Rigid Plastic Here
Zero Waste Day is a donating, recycling and reuse event that provides residents an easy way to get rid of items they no longer need.
A special collection for bulky rigid plastic has been scheduled for Saturday, April 20 in conjunction with Swampscott's Second Annual Zero Waste Day.
Residents can drop-off rigid plastic for recycling at the DPW Yard on Paradise Road from 9 a.m to noon. Rigid plastic includes: crates, barrels, buckets, plant pots, plastic flamingos, kids’ climbing structures, toys, patio furniture, and plastic shelving and pipes.
All other Zero Waste Day activities will take place at the Swampscott High School Parking lot on Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. to noon. Here's what's happening...

Morgan Memorial Goodwill will be on hand to accept donations of clothing, household items, textiles, and furnishings.
The Rail Trail used bike sale will take place beginning at 10 a.m. with bike donations accepted starting at 9 a.m.

Mercury items will be collected for proper disposal and eyeglasses will be collected for those in need.
Students will run a free 'drop and swap' for books, cds, dvds and sports equipment and sell recycle bins.
