CONCERT SINGERS ANNOUNCE
THIRTY-SIXTH SEASON!
The Concert Singers will begin their thirty-sixth season by rehearsing for their holiday concerts. The concerts will feature Franz Joseph Haydn’s popular “St. Nicholas Mass”, Kirke Mechem’s “Seven Joys of Christmas,” two settings of “In Dulci Jubilo” (“Good Christian Men Rejoice”), a contemporary setting of “God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen”, and a novelty number “Christmas on Broadway”. It is a surprising medley of every Christmas tune that was ever in a Broadway musical!!
The sixty-voice chorus will be accompanied in concert by chamber orchestra and professional soloists. The pair of holiday performances will be held on Friday evening December 4th in Swampscott and Sunday afternoon December 6th in Lynn.

No auditions are required, just a willingness to attend rehearsals in September, October and November. Rehearsals, beginning September 8, 2015, are held every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 101 Forest Avenue, Swampscott, MA. September 8, 15 and 22 are “open rehearsals”, when you may meet the director and try out the music with no obligation whatsoever. Membership dues are modest, and each singer only pays for his music. After September 29, no new members will be admitted until January 2016 in preparation for the spring concert.
The Concert Singers is conducted by William C. Sano, long-time faculty member of the Marblehead Public Schools, and instructor of “Season at Symphony” in Swampscott. Sano is also a pianist and organist, and teaches for the Salem State “Explorers.” He holds music degrees from Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio, and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. The chorus’s accompanist is Margaret J. Dee, retired music teacher in the Danvers Public School System. Ms. Dee is also the organist for Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Lynnfield.
