Sure summer is in full swing right now, but the school year will be back before you know it.
It’s a holiday weekend, and sitting at a desk taking notes is the last thing on students’ minds. But the start of the new school year will be here before you know it, and below are some important 2015-16 dates for Swampscott Public Schools.
- Aug. 31 Staff/Faculty First Day
- Sept. 1 Staff/Faculty only
- Sept. 2 & 3 Students’ 1st & 2nd Day
- Sept. 4 No School
- Sept. 7 Labor Day-no school
- Sept 10 Stanley Curriculum night
- Sept. 14 & 15 Rosh Hashanah – no school
- Sept. 23 Yom Kippur-no school
- Oct. 12 Columbus Day-no school
- Oct. 13 Early release (12:30 p.m., K-12) Prof. Development Day
- Nov. 3 Professional Development Day - no school
- Nov. 11 Veterans Day - no school
- Nov. 25 Early Dismissal (noon, K-12)
- Nov. 26 & 27 Thanksgiving Recess - no school
- December 24-Jan 3 December recess - no school
