Driver in Suspected Hit-and-Run Comes Into Station, Requires Hospital Transport

Saturday, May 16
At 1:15 a.m., a caller reported a motor vehicle hit and run had occurred. Police located the front bumper of the possible fleeing vehicle a short distance from the accident scene. The vehicle was later found locked and unoccupied at Swampscott Middle School. The owner was contacted and said someone else had been driving, and that person intended to come the station and explain the situation. When the driver arrived at the station about an hour after the accident, he was examined by EMS and transported to the hospital.
At 11 a.m., a Peabody resident reported that a waitress at Cheeburger, Cheeburger had used their debit card without authorization.

At 2:48 p.m., a caller reported that a man appeared very angry while talking to a woman. The caller asked the woman whether she was ok, and the woman replied, “yes,” but also stated the man tried choking her.

At 12:12 a.m., a caller stated that found a cell phone and the owner had arrived to claim it but was giving the caller a hard time.
