Film Idea Born in Swampscott Gets a Trailer

'Ted 2' will hit theaters in June.

Hollywood’s R-rated teddy bear is back with a sequel.

The trailer for “Ted 2” is out. Swampscott doesn’t set the scene for the sequel, but the town was featured in the original film and the plot was apparently conceived in Swampscott several years ago. Other North Shore towns, such as Hamilton and Danvers, are featured in the movie.

Back in August, film crews descended on nearby Appleton Farms for about 10 days to film scenes for the sequel that stars Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson.

At the time, Peter Pinciaro, deputy director of the Northeast region for Trustees of the Reservations, which owns the 1,000 acre Appleton Farm farm, told Patch that filming was planned for the Great Pasture, an area to the west of the railroad tracks on the Hamilton side of the farm.

The film is set to hit theaters in June. Check out the trailer below.
