First Lady Lauren Baker to Speak at Swampscott Public Library

January 21 event is the first of the library's Centennial Season

Come join us on Saturday, January 21, at 3pm at the Swampscott Public Library for the first event of our Centennial Season. The program will be “Swampscott Library: Past, Present, and Future." Our unofficial town historian, Lou Gallo will take us on a journey to the PAST, including the story behind the formation of Swampscott's public library. Then Massachusetts First Lady, Lauren Baker–a champion for childhood literacy–will give us her perspective on the PRESENT and critical importance of the library. Finally, Mary Ann Cluggish, Chairman of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners will tell us about the FUTURE of our library and libraries everywhere. There is limited seating for this event so you must register either at the library, by phone at 781-596-8867, or online at bit.ly/2iUMpZk
