On Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6pm to 7:30pm, the Swampscott Public Library has invited Debbie Alsebai of Kidz Cooking to bring her Cooks & Books program to the Teen Area. She will teach the teens how to prepare chicken gumbo, quick jambalaya and Bananas Foster for an awesome Mardi Gras feast. During the class she will be reading excerpts from books about the history and customs of Mardi Gras. The class is limited to 20 and registration will begin on Monday, March 17th. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Swampscott Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
