Letter: Kessler is the 'Hardest Working Selectman' in Swampscott

A residents talks about why Glenn Kessler will get his vote on April 28.

I’m writing this letter to voice my support in reelecting Glenn Kessler to the Swampscott Board of Selectmen. I met Glenn three years ago during his first campaign when he knocked on my door and asked for my vote. Rather than give me an itemized list of his credentials to try and impress me, he simply promised, that if elected, he would listen to ALL neighborhoods, including ours, and ensure that at least one Selectman would give voice to our concerns. That was important to me because I strongly believed the Board of Selectmen at the time lacked willingness to listen to residents who weren’t politically connected lawyers or developers. My family gave Glenn our vote that year, and he’s continued to earn it.

Glenn has proven himself to be the hardest working Selectman in Swampscott without question. As a liaison to seven boards and committees in the town, Glenn donates countless hours of his personal time and energy to understanding the issues in town and actually working to get them fixed. He’s been instrumental in ensuring that numerous capital projects in town are completed including repairing the Fish House, the piers at Fisherman’s Beach, Cassidy Seawall, Paradise Road drainage improvements, projects that benefit ALL the taxpayers of Swampscott. Glenn has proven that he can work with different personalities, opposing views, and strong opinions to achieve results that make Swampscott a better place to live.

Moving Swampscott forward will be done by people who are willing work hard for all the residents in town, not just a few who believe that their way is the only way. I’m choosing a candidate that’s already moving Swampscott forward. That person is Glenn Kessler, I hope you’ll join me in voting for him on April 28th 2015.
