Letter: Kessler has been 'Outstanding'

The following letter was submitted in support of Glenn Kessler for selectman.

I have followed Swampscott politics for over thirty years and have seen selectmen come and go. Some have served the Town well, others not so well. Glenn Kessler, our current selectman, has been outstanding!

Glenn is a different kind of selectman. He puts people ahead of politics and the Town ahead of himself. It has been said, a politician worries about the next election, whereas a statesman worries about the next generation. Glenn worries about Swampscott, as it is today, and what it will be in the future.

Harry Truman once quipped, “One of the difficulties with all of our institutions is the fact that we’ve emphasized the reward instead of the service.” Glenn’s service to the Town, and its residents, has been exemplary. He votes for what he believes is just in his continuous quest to make Swampscott a better place to live.

I’ve learned throughout my life that what one man thinks of himself is but his opinion, what others think of him is his reputation! Glenn’s reputation is sterling. Glenn has vision, integrity and believes strongly in transparency. Please join me and many others in voting to re-elect Glenn to our Board of Selectmen on April 28th. He’s earned it.
