Letter: Spellios has Qualities to Make a 'Terrific' Selectman

A resident is speaking up for a candidate in the upcoming Swampscott election.

Dear Editor,

I am writing to urge your support of Peter Spellios who is running for the Board of Selectmen in Swampscott. I know Peter through his wife, Rebecca, and sister, Suzanne. We have all been talking for a while about what a terrific Selectman Peter would make. Peter is hardworking, energetic, reasonable, thoughtful, genuine, and sincere. All of these qualities combined will make Peter the Selectman that the Town of Swampscott needs right now.

Moreover, Peter’s experience within the Town has given him an understanding of how things work and will allow him to hit the ground running. Peter served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for ten years --- serving as chair for several of those years. He’s been a Town Meeting member for eight years, and is presently the Chair of the Town’s Charter Review Committee. Peter’s work on these various Town boards will translate into him being a strong supporter of the work of the myriad of volunteer committees in Swampscott. This will, hopefully, allow these volunteers to be able to make recommendations that are not only considered but also implemented.

Swampscott has wonderful volunteers who contribute countless hours to important boards and committees that are working to make this town a better place for residents and families. I believe that Peter will be the spark that we need to move many initiatives forward. If you want our town to move forward, please consider a vote for Peter Spellios for Selectman.
