Letter: Vote for Spellios' 'Continued Guidance and Generous Service'

The latest letter about Swampscott's upcoming election.

To the Editor,

We are writing in support of Peter Spellios for Selectman.

If you have never been to a zoning meeting here in Swampscott, it is a real eye opener. As to be expected, people have very strong emotions about their homes and their land, and the meetings can get very argumentative. We had the good fortune of working with Peter Spellios at the end of his term on the Zoning Board of Appeals 2 years ago. Thanks to Peter’s understanding of the law and all of the zoning rules and regulations, he was able to guide a group of about 20 neighbors through what could have been a contentious situation. He acted not in our favor, but in the favor of the Town of Swampscott and brought two disparate groups together to a consensus, which everyone was happy with. He helped to form a compromise for the betterment of our community. I am happy to say, that armed with an understanding of the rules and regulations of our town, all the neighbors live in peace.

Peter Spellios is a fair and educated person who has already served our community well. We will be voting for his continued guidance and generous service to our community on April 28 and hope you will join us.

Kind regards,
