Worker Killed In Swampscott Quarry Industrial Accident
A worker was killed in an industrial accident at Aggregate Industries on Monday, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A worker was killed during an apparent industrial accident at the Aggregate Industries quarry in Swampscott early Monday afternoon, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office.
The Essex DA's Office said Swampscott police were called to the Danvers Road facility at about 1 p.m. for an accident involving a rock crusher suspended above the quarry.

A Medflight was called to respond but canceled when the worker was pronounced dead at the scene. The Essex DA's Office said the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.
The death is being investigated by the Essex County District Attorney's Office State Police Detective Unit, Swampscott Police and the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

The Essex DA's Office said there will also be an investigation by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and, likely, the state Department of Industrial Accidents.
