Michael S. Murray performs on November 1st

The First Church in Swampscott, Congregational, announced the first concert in the 2015-16 Soli Deo Gloria Concert Series, featuring organist Michael S. Murray, at 3 p.m. November 1st at 40 Monument Ave., Swampscott.

Murray is the organist and choirmaster of the Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill. As a soloist, Murray has appeared in recital at major venues across the United States, Europe and Australia, including the national conventions of the American Institute of Organbuilders, the International Society of Organbuilders, the Association of Anglican Musicians, and the colorful Sydney Cabaret Convention.

The Soli Deo Gloria Concert Series was inaugurated in 2014 to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the First Church Noack organ, Opus 145. Subsequent concerts include Vermillion Strings on January 24, 2016, and Cappella Nova Mundi on April 3, 2016.

The concert is free and open to the public, and free-will offerings will be accepted. Child care will be provided.
