Permits Needed For Swampscott Fisherman's Beach Fires

Cooking beach fires are only allowed at Fisherman's Beach with a maximum of four permits given per day.

Residents wishing to have a beach cooking fire at Fisherman's Beach should contact the Swampscott Fire Department for a same-day permit starting at 9 a.m. each morning.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents are reminded that beach fires are only allowed at Fisherman's Beach and require a same-day permit from the fire department.

Permits are issued at the Swampscott Fire Department each morning at 9 a.m. and will be issued for that day only. There is a maximum of four permits allowed per day.

Only Swampscott residents can apply for a permit and those applying must be at least 21 years old.

Residents applying for a permit should bring two checks — including one for the fee and one for a refundable deposit.
