Possible Gunshot or Transformer Exploding Reported in Elmwood Area

Monday, April 27

At 3:21 p.m., a person brought an iPad into the station that had been found in the street.

At 4:35 p.m., a possibly unconscious person was reported in a vehicle on Humphrey Street.

At 5:55 p.m., a motor vehicle was stopped for failure to have a rear license plate. The operator said the plate apparently fell off at some point and moved the front plate to the rear for the time being.

At 9:07 p.m., a caller reported loud yelling coming from a Cherry Street residence. Police responded and found a verbal argument had taken place.

At 9:40 p.m., a caller on Elmwood reported hearing a single gunshot in the area of Elmwood and Hardy. This was the only caller to report the sound, though another caller from Thomas Road reported what they believed to be a transformer exploding. An officer spoke with that person who described a “boom,” but all the power in the area was working.
