The July 23 public forum will focus on Transportation, Public Facilities and Services, Open Space

Are you interested in helping to shape Swampscott’s transportation, open space, and public facilities goals and policies? This is your chance to provide your perspective and ideas as we work toward a long-range plan for Swampscott.
Join the Swampscott 2025 Master Plan Committee and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) for the Swampscott Master Plan Transportation, Public Facilities & Services and Open Space Public Forum on Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Swampscott Senior Center. This forum will give the public an opportunity to set priorities and identify strategies to enhance Swampscott’s transportation network, public facilities, parks, recreation and overall quality of life.
The event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with an open house where attendees can view information and findings from previous public forums and participate in several interactive exercises. The formal program will begin at 7 p.m. with an overview presentation. Following the presentation, participants will have several opportunities to voice their thoughts and opinions during topic-specific break-out discussions focusing on transportation, public facilities and open space; take part in mapping exercises; and more.

This is the third of four public forums that will inform the master planning process. The first two forums focused on ‘Visioning and Housing,’ ‘History,’ and ‘Economic Development.’ Summaries of these meetings are now available on the project website (http://swampscott2025.mapc.org). The final public forum will focus on identifying strategic priorities for all plan elements and on implementation, and is tentatively scheduled for mid November.
