This is a reminder that the Swampscott Health Department's household hazardous waste day drop-off event will be held rain or shine Saturday November 2nd, from 9 AM to Noon at the Marblehead Health Garage on Tower Way in Marblehead.
Items that will be accepted include, but are not necessarily limited to: oil based paint and paint related materials, used motor oil, corrosives, polishes, disinfectants, oven and drain cleaners, poisons, fluorescent bulbs, empty propane tanks, pesticides and other chemicals.
There will be a cost associated with participating in the collection day. $25 for 0-10 gals. or lbs. or $45 for 10-25 gals. or lbs. Additional amounts priced accordingly. We will also accept propane tanks ($10 grill size, $5 small torch size, $5 helium). Residents will also have the ability to bring prescription medications and Styrofoam for free.
Please do not bring latex (water-based) paint as it is not hazardous. Latex paint when dry or hardened can be placed in the regular trash. Proof of residency required, residents are encouraged to car pool. For more information on what is and is not accepted you can check out the link below:

Also, an electronics drop-off event has been scheduled for November 16th from 9 am - 11 AM at the DPW yard on 200 Paradise Road. This will be an electronics only event. Costs will range from $5 for a computer monitor / laptop to $10 - $25 for televisions (all other electronics are free).
