Resident Urges a Vote for Spellios
Swampscott's upcoming election is prompting residents to voice their opinions.

To the Editor:
I was pleased to read Peter Spellios’ letter last week announcing his candidacy for the Board of Selectmen. I strongly agree with Peter’s statement that greater participation and involvement is needed for Swampscott. It is clear to me that Peter is driven to get things done in town – but importantly – he realizes that the Board of Selectmen cannot do it all by itself.
Over the years, the town has benefited from many committees of volunteers, although in recent years participation on these committees has decreased. Based on Peter’s many years of serving on these committees himself, I believe that he will actively work for greater participation, champion these committees and support their efforts to build consensus and to advance projects and ideas that are important to Swampscott.
The fact that Peter is driven to join the Board of Selectmen not because of any one issue, but in order to facilitate progress and to bring leadership to the Board is very important and very much needed. Please join me in voting for Peter for the Board of Selectmen.
